Choosing the right size can feel a little puzzling, especially for new parents or when gifting. Here’s our softly curated guide to help you find the perfect fit for bébé, wrapped in comfort and joy.
🧺 How Baby Sizing Works
Unlike adult sizing, baby clothes are generally sized by age, but as we all know, babies don’t all grow at the same pace. That’s why we also recommend considering height and weight when choosing.

💡 Tip: When in doubt, size up. Room to grow means more wear — and comfort!
Did you know? If you are participating to a Nesting shower, and or want to help the new parents during the first months, you might want to bring some baby clothes that are small so that they have enough to start with.
Literally, during the first 4 months parents will change baby around 6 to 10 times per day! So they'll want to have enough clothing as most of the time they will change baby fully. You can ask the mum before her due date if she knows the baby's weight for example, I knew my little one would be about 2.8 kilos at birth which meant we needed 0000 size!! Some babies will wear 00 at birth directly.
Coming around 4 to 6 months old we get to dress baby with more and more fun and cuteness. Of course the 0 to 6 months is time for lots of photos and parents always look for a cute outfit around this age too.

Many parents have shared how their little one wears the same piece across two seasons, and this is exactly what I would do. We want our little pieces to last for good! So we really advise and offer to take the bigger size in doubt, always.
We also love layering: a slightly bigger size means you can tuck a soft blouse underneath or style it with knitwear in cooler months.
🎁 For Gifting
If you’re buying for a baby shower or new arrival and aren’t sure of the size:
- Choose 00 (0–6M) for brand-new babies
- Or 0 (6–12M) for a gift they’ll grow into! Be mindful of the season, so that 6 months from their birth date, they'll be able to wear the clothing cozyly! (is this a word? Well now it is)
